Centennial Aquatic Club 2018-2019 season

posted Aug 11, 2018, 6:11 AM by CAC Webmaster

Hello everyone!

With August arriving and the focus slowly turning toward school, the coaches at CAC are ready for a new season and all that it has to offer!  This season there are a few changes to the program. First, the practice schedule is basically the same until the middle of November. Then, Tennent's pool is also being used by another program so our times and days change slightly. In addition, we are also encouraging an increase in the number of athletes taking part in USA Swimming. There are many benefits to adding this opportunity. Those benefits are outlined in the paperwork.  Finally, we are excited to announce that we were able to keep fees the same this season as well!

Attached to this email is all the necessary materials for the upcoming season! We are so excited to get back into the fall/winter swing of things.
1. The CAC Program information PDF outlines all that the season has to offer including information about the different groups, practice times, and much more. One of the items outlined in there is the opportunity for USA Swimming. We have many meets that we have chosen that are close by and the chance to travel to a meet at West Chester University. Take a chance to check out the benefits of joining USA swimming!
2. In the CAC Parent Jobs 2018-2019 PDF, we have included all the possible jobs that a parent could have during a dual meet. It is important to keep in mind that an SAL dual meet could not run successfully without the help of parents volunteering. This form is also included in the Registration All Together form as well.
3.The CAC Registration 2018-2019 ALL TOGETHER PDF has EVERYTHING in it. It has the registration form, fees, fundraisers, concussion form, parent volunteer forms, and volunteer safety form.

If you need to purchase any items before the start of the season, we have a store within Swim Outlet.

As season approached feel free to share the paperwork with anyone that might be interested in joining or trying out CAC. There is a tryout night for new athletes on Wednesday, September 12 from 6-7 @ William Tennent HS Pool.

For registration purposes, you will want to complete the CAC Registration 2018-2019 ALL TOGETHER DOCUMENT and submit the following pages with your registration to CAC at 147 Newtown Road Warminster, PA 18974 or they can be brought to the pool on the 12th.

Suit and clothing information will be sent out soon!

Thank you,
Meghan & Jamie

Middle School Pools

posted Mar 26, 2018, 3:57 AM by CAC Webmaster

Hello CAC Parents!

Something was brought to my attention by one of the parents about the pool usage of the Centennial School District's pool. If you have the time, take the chance to fill out this survey. They are trying to find out the community's perspective on the middle school pools.
If they are to keep the pools open, it will not only benefit the future of the CAC program and the High School swim team, but also benefit your athletes, as pool time will not be taken away from them.

Thank you as always for your continued support!

Spring Clinic Offerings!

posted Mar 19, 2018, 5:49 PM by CAC Webmaster

Hello All!

Thank you to those who attended the banquet last week- the kids seemed to have a blast!!

Attached is the information for Spring Clinic. Thank you to those who have sent in their forms already! Thanks to one of the moms, she noticed that some of the dates were off, so the forms have been corrected with the appropriate dates on them!

Keep in mind...

Bring a friend:  If you are a returning CAC athlete and bring a new athlete to the program for SAL Spring Clinic that has not been part of the team or ever done a clinic, you are entitled to ½ price fees for that child for one of your children.

HS Post Season-
This group is designed to challenge the athlete in training as well as to incorporate technique within the practices.   All athletes are expected to attend regularly (at least 3 out of 4 practices per week) in order to understand the skills taught and the set intervals, there is an expectation of regular practice attendance.   This group will consist of dryland, technique work, and swimming. Practices will be four days a week, Monday through Thursday. The session will run from April 9- May 31st. A separate email will be sent out to 8th grade parents. 8th graders are invited to train with the HS kids after school.

SAL Spring Clinic-
The clinic is designed for the swimmer to review all four competitive strokes.  There will be emphasis placed on proper technique, drills, starts, and turns.  Each week will focus upon a specific stroke (drills, starts, turns) and the final week will emphasize more swimming to prepare for summer swimming experience. We will be sending out emails each week detailing what we will be working on and who the head coach will be for the practices each night.
Practices will run every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6:15-7:30 form April 16th- May 17th

SAL Pre Team Lessons-
Lessons will be offered from 5:30-6:15. There will be two sessions offered with seven classes in each session. The first session will last from April 17- April 30. The second session will last from May 2nd- May 16th.   You can choose to sign up for one session or both. Please make sure to indicate on the form which session you are choosing. Athletes will be grouped according to ability. There will always be a head coach, Karen Dean, there, as well as teachers in the water.

Have a nice week, I am hoping for NO SNOW!

8th grade athletes

posted Feb 26, 2018, 4:35 PM by CAC Webmaster

Hello Parents!
You are being contacted because you have an athlete(s) who is in 8th grade. Each year, we invite the 8th graders to participate in the HS spring session which is after school from 3:45-5:30 Monday through Thursday. The dates for the program are longer than spring clinic. The afternoon session focuses on drylands as well as more technique incorporated with swimming.

We like to invite the 8th graders for a couple of reasons. We like that they can see what it is like to practice after school, with most not having done that. Then they can get used to having to do their homework at night, instead of after school. Another reason for liking them to practice after school, is so they can get to know the athletes on the team. They form bonds and relationships early on, which is great for development and comfort when they come to the high school next year. Even if they are not coming to Tennent, it still is great for them to form relationships!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me- I do not mind answering them. We would love to have every one of your children after school. High school is a whole other level and its always great to get a head start on their comfort level.

Thank you and have a nice night!
Meghan
