CAC Update: Week of November 23-29

posted Nov 22, 2015, 12:37 PM by Philip Leonard
Hi all,

A few things for this week:

Practice Schedule -

This week - there is only one practice offered on Monday - all groups normal time
Next week, 11/30-12/3, normal schedule too.  After that week, PLEASE pay attention to emails and website as times will change for some days due to home high school meets

Invitational Information -

CAC Odd Age Meet - January 10, 2016 - all CAC athletes, including pre-team athletes that can make a lap of the pool, ages 13 & U are expected to take part in this invitational.  Information is attached.  We are asking each athlete to swim 3-4 events (pre-team free and back) as well as contribute one advertisement per family. Event sponsorship is also available too.  Entries are due Wednesday, 12/16.

Besides the normal day of the meet activities, we will need some help in other areas too.  One is heading up concessions for the meet.  CAC works with the school district in this area.  Wendy Greiner, a parent of a HS athlete, has done this for years and it is not time for someone else to step up and help out.  If you can help out in this area, please let us know and we will connect you with Wendy to get the details.  There is another time we will be using concessions - Division Champs scheduled for Saturday, January 30.  We are the host of this meet.  Girls and Boys both swim together @ CAC that day.

The last area we will need assistance for is running off programs for both meets - Odd Age Meet (2 separate programs) and Division Champs (2 separate programs).  If you have the accessibility to make about 225 programs for odd age meet each session and about 125 copies for divisions each session, please let us know.

Council Rock Hawaiian Holiday Meet is Saturday, January 2 - attached is the information for that meet too. This is an optional invitational.  If you are interested in participating, entries are due Wednesday, December 9.

Meet Results

Attached are the results for both meets.

Girls had 53 improved times from the meet.  Score - CORE 397.5, CAC 215.5
Boys had 61 improved times from the meet. Score - CORE 291, CAC 252

Both meets were very spirited ones.  A great way to end before Thanskgiving!!

Athletes of the Meet

Diving - the divers performed very well on Friday night.  Nina Lombardi is the diver of the meet.  Nina learned a forward somersault with two twists this and performed it in the meet too.  Way to go Nina!!

Girls Meet - The two young ladies this week are Zoe Page andGrace Pickford!  Zoe swam her best time in each event (25 free, 50 free, and 25 back) this past Saturday dropping a total of 7 seconds in her three events.  Not to be outdone, Grace had two personal bests in the 50 free and 50 back by over 12 seconds combined.  What a meet :)

Boys Meet -   Braeden Simmons and Thomas Peta are the boys swimmers of the meet.  Thomas swam three races (50 free, 100 free, and 50 back) on Saturday and did beautifully.  Braeden completed his first backstroke turn and dropped almost 7 seconds in his 50 free.  Well done boys!!

CAC Website -

Please use our website for information too....www.centennialquaticclub.org - there are many pages of great info to help you out with the ins and outs of our club.

Here are just 2 example pages.....
On the front page - there is a recap of the weekly email as well as two calendars for basic information.
About CAC page - pics from various events as well as the athletes of the meet and descriptions.....

CAC Payments

Over the last six weeks we have fallen behind in the billing this season (Lisa's illness).  We are aiming to get back on track in the next few weeks.  Please bear with us as we will be sending statements regarding what is owed soon.  Thank you for your understanding and send in payments as soon as possible.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving with your family and well look forward to an excellent December!!
Meghan and Jamie
