Centennial Athletics Community Association (CAC)

CAC Weekly 11/6

Michael Lepouski

Hi CAC families!

Congratulations to all our swimmers! Everyone did a wonderful job at our first swim meet! Results have been posted to the website here. Thank you to all the volunteers for your flexibility and dedication. We could not have done it without you all!

A few reminders for the meets:

1. Swimmers are not allowed to leave the pool deck without checking with the team ready bench worker or a coach.

2. Swimmers should be keeping their hands to themselves.

3. Swimmers should stay in their lane during their event until all other swimmers are finished. It is also a great demonstration of sportsmanship to shake hands with the swimmers in the lanes on either side of them.

4. We would love to see all our CAC members cheering on fellow swimmers, especially the youngsters that may be struggling. Let's continue to show them our CAC spirit!

We're excited for our first dive meet this Friday and hope that Coach Janine is feeling better! Our next swim meet is this Saturday.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  1. There is no practice on Tuesday, 11/7. Please get out there and vote!
  2. Boys size 26 jammers are still not in, but all other suits and personalized caps have been handed out. If you need a non-personalized cap, parents may purchase one in the office (left side, on the pool deck) during practice, for $10. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Laura.
  3. Please be on the lookout for the parent job assignment emails from [email protected] and [email protected]. Emails are typically sent out during the week before the meet. If you need to make changes to your availability, please reach out to Laura for boys or Renee for girls, ASAP. They both work really hard on making sure all our volunteer spots are covered, so please do everything in your power to stick to your commitment.
  4. Odd Age Invitational is on December 10th - this is our biggest fundraising event of the year.  We ask that every swimmer participate and that every parent volunteers. The cost for CAC families is $20 per swimmer, for up to four individual events. Swimmers can decide which events they want to participate in, but the charge will be the same regardless of if they swim in one event, or four. This is a WONDERFUL opportunity for newer swimmers to get a feel for what a meet is like, and for the more experienced swimmers to challenge themselves by going against swimmers from across Bucks County. More information has been posted here: https://www.centennialaquaticclub.org/page/swimmingdiving/odd-age-invitational If you have any questions/comments, please reach out to Jaime.
  5. We have yet to hear back from the high school on whether Wood will be utilizing the pool this year. IF they are, swim practice times will be adjusted starting the week of 11/20 to the following:
    • Blue: 5:45 to 6:45
    • Orange: 6:30 to 8:00
    • We will share more information on the time changes once we know for sure, but please plan accordingly.
  6. Our newest board member is Nicole Moser - she will be handling promotions/fundraising. If you have ideas, please feel free to reach out to her! We are still looking for a volunteer to be the boy rep and a volunteer to be the girl rep next year. You can shadow Laura or Renee this year, so you know what to do.
  7. Invitationals - Please consider signing up for invitationals - you do not need a special invite to participate! The more CAC participates in invitationals at other clubs, the more people will sign up for our Odd Age Invitational. Information will be in the app, on our website (here), and on the CAC announcement board (in the walkway leading to the stands). Did you know that kids get to PICK the races they want to race in? It’s usually $5 per race, parent volunteers are often not needed, you get to leave as soon as your swimmer is done, AND they can win awards! It’s a fantastic way to compete in races that you don’t normally get to try! They also have multiple heats, so please don’t feel like you must be the top swimmer to compete!
  8. The dive meet from 11/3 has been rescheduled to 12/16 at 11:30 am @ CB
  9. Last but certainly not least... CAC needs volunteers to shadow for starter ref and stroke and turn, for both boys and girls. The positions are essential for meets and we do not have enough qualified volunteers.  Please reach out to Jaime ASAP if you are willing to learn.
