Centennial Athletics Community Association (CAC)

CAC Weekly 11/20

Michael Lepouski

UPDATED with Urban Air Flyer.

Hi CAC families!

It's hard to believe our 3rd meet is in the books and that Thanksgiving is right around the corner! We had many swimmers try new things this week, and we couldn't be more proud!  As always, thank you to all the volunteers for your flexibility and dedication.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. We still have a few clothing orders that must be picked up. Please see a board member during practice to pick it up.

2. Odd Age Invitational:  Please sign up here, by 11/29. It is on December 10th and is our biggest fundraising event of the year. We ask that every swimmer participate and that every parent volunteers. The cost for CAC families is $20 per swimmer, for up to four individual events. Swimmers can decide which events they want to participate in, but the charge will be the same regardless of if they swim in one event or four. More information has been posted here. If you have any questions/comments, please reach out to Jaime.

3. There were a few complications with the pool schedule for this week. The William Tennat High School has a new coach, and they are trying to start up their season. We are actively trying to iron everything out and will keep everyone posted once we know what the following week will look like but below is the schedule for Monday and Tuesday this week (NO PRACTICES Wednesday-Friday)

  • Monday, 11/20 -  We are combining blue and orange practice! The blue team will practice from 6:30-7:30 and the orange team will practice from 6:30-8:00. Dive practice will be CANCELLED.
  • Tuesday, 11/21 - Our swim and dive team party will 6:30-8 at the pool. We will not have practice for swimming or diving on Tuesday, but please bring a bathing suit and towel as we will be playing games in the pool.

4. We are still seeking a volunteer to be the boys' rep. You can shadow Laura this year, so you know what to do.

5. We keep having multiple last-minute cancellations and no-shows for our meets (by swimmers and volunteers). We understand that things happen, but our meets require a lot of prep work before and are all hands-on deck at the meet to make it successful.  Parents are expected to work meets - if you cannot work, please try and find someone else to step in. Emails are being sent during the week before the meet and are coming from [email protected] and [email protected]. If you are not getting the emails, please check your spam and/or junk folder. If you're still not seeing them, please reach out.

6. We need your help! We're looking for business sponsors for our Odd Age Invitational. If you can please share the sponsor post on Facebook, that would be great. If you know of any businesses willing to sponsor, please reach out to Nicole at [email protected]. Sponsorships start at just $25!

7. We are having a team bonding/fundraiser at Urban Air on December 17th. We're hoping to have a great turnout, as UA is offering a 20% donation back to CAC. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time here (and is recommended to ensure that you can get in the door) or at the door (if there is still room). Time slots sell out fast, so please don't hesitate! They promised to stream the Eagles game for us too! Please share the flyer (attached) as well as the Facebook event with your family and friends!! They just need to say they are with CAC when they check in, for us to get the credit.

8. Last but certainly not least... CAC needs volunteers to shadow for starter ref and stroke and turn, for both boys and girls. The positions are essential for meets and we do not have enough qualified volunteers.  Please reach out to Jaime ASAP if you are willing to learn.
